And we really welcome our first seasonal Maruchi:

Summer Maruchi 2011: from Madrid: Loleilola!!!

Loleilola, will choose the theme for June, and this is her proposal:

I've been thinking about the theme for the month of June a lot .

Since it is a great responsibility!
But after all I've come to the conclusion that now could not be better time to put the theme "COMPLAINT".
All this has an explanation.
Since i reamember I've heard in my house complaints. Especially from my grandmother, who thought they would be isolated but over the years I've discovered that it was not. The complaint is something that somehow characterizes society where I grew up. And in Spain, people complain a lot.A friend of mine allways said that "we are a nonconformist by nature", but i´m not sure if it is a way of being or vice.

But I realized that all these complaints become just words. Sounds in the wind.
I believe in fighting art, social and mirror of what we live or what we feel. What better way to express certain things through artistic expression.

On the other hand I've noticed that for about a year or two, all around me regardless of where and with whom were the same complaints were heard.
And after so much unrest in complaint, everything has exploded so much frustration in a peaceful popular complaint unanimous. This has caused the stagnant energies and complaints will become a social movement. This situation make me feel a deep happiness, because in my souldness i was feeling a big stop frustrating that made me so difficult express my self witht art. But we must not forget our essence.

That's why I invited you to unleash "The complaint." From the smallest things of your everyday life, to major disasters.

And we really welcome our second seasonal Maruchi:

Autumn Maruchi 2011: from Lagos, Nigeria: Taiye Idahor!!!

Taiye will choose the theme for September, and this is her proposal:

I have finally come up with a topic for September. Its "our daily colour".

Daily we are confronted with different kinds of people, objects and nature, which all exist in many different colours, and sadly a lot of times we really do not take note of most of them apart from the obvious and bold ones.

So the question is do we really love the colours we claim we do, by searching through our stuff and finding just one item that is in sync with that colour we say we love. Can the colour of my room and the stains on it tell a story of my past, does the colour of one's skin really matter when we pick our friends, what colours are particular to our home or state or country can certain colours identify a particular region of the world or a particular person or even a point in time?! I'm just wondering...

Do we see colours with only our eyes, can we feel them, can we smell them?

Talking about colours and what we see, here are the lyrics to Louis Armstrong's "what a wonderful world"

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

So lets see some colours ladies!
